YOUR WEEK IN EVENTS IS WAITING! So get out there and heart your community!
This week, Vennue Magazine (the region’s newest and coolest arts and culture rag) wants you, yes you, to go find art. Art is everywhere around you and they are asking for your “found” submissions by May 15th for their next issue. Find out all the details by clicking here! On Tuesday, if you’ve been looking for someplace to let out some steam, look no further, the Stitch and Bitch Knitting Group which meets twice a month to do just what their title claims could become your new best friend! Also, Tuesday night brings the artist, Genesis Chapman, back to the region, this time with new work that asks if “Mankind is still part of Mother Nature…?” His show titled, “The Spirit of Place,” opens at Perspective Gallery in Blacksburg at 4pm. On Wednesday, teens can head to the Melrose Public Library to make your own CD Clock out of recycled materials. A fitting event as Earth Day happens to be the day before! Blacksburg’s Cabo Fish Taco brings it on Thursday with Flevans, an uber-talented DJ/Musician straight from the UK for only $5. Also, Christabel and the Johns of Nashville make a return visit to 202 Market this week. If you didn’t see this group last time they were here then you better be there Friday night. myScoper hates that we’ll miss this show… we’ll be at ROFLcon this weekend learning “the internet.” But don’t let that stop you from seeing this fantastic band! Saturday celebrates the Tenth Annual World Tai Chi & Qigong Day. You’ll be able to participate and learn about the ancient practices all day! On Sunday, lake local and best-selling author, David Baldacci, will be on-hand at The Little Gallery to sign copies of his newest release, “The Whole Truth,” which is said to be a thriller unlike any he’s written before… Worth a read? You decide…
And as always… stay tuned for a fabulous week in events next Monday!
